Films: Night of the Scarecrow (1995)
Alias: None
Type: Mystical
Location: Civilized Area
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: Do yourself a favor, and don't rely on sorcery next time you want a bountiful harvest. Chances are that either the magic will turn on you, or the person giving you said magic will turn out to be a huge jerk. Oh, and don't put his soul in any scary-looking things, either.
History: Long ago, the locals of a rural area of America turned to a warlock so that their harvest would bear fruit. Alas, the warlock turned out to be a sexual predator, and the people had him killed, his bones buried and his spirit residing in a scarecrow. Many years later, a bunch of irresponsible teens accidentally rouse the spirit from its rest...by peeing on the scarecrow...okay. Now, there's a killer scarecrow on the loose, looking for a way to become human again.
Notable Kills: Pins a guy to a wall with a twine cutter before graphically eviscerating him with a thresher tractor, and kills another by firing needle-like straw at him. Also, whatever plant matter he puts in people grows out of them horribly.
Final Fate: After the scarecrow gets caught in an explosion, it is only defeated when a guy uses a piledriver to destroy its old body's bones, causing it to go out in a cloud of dust and debris.
Powers/Abilities: Can phase through hay, and plant seeds in people that grow into deadly vegetation.
Weakness: If the bones of the original body are destroyed, so is the scarecrow.
Scariness Factor: 4-This man was a jerk in life, but in after-death he is so much worse. With a raspy voice and an assortment of farm-related ways to kill you, this patchwork man is a nightmare of the rural country.
Trivia: -Although the script for this film was written in 1990, its studio went kaput, and it ended up getting shelved until 1995.
-Also, in the original script, the scarecrow was planned to spout cheesy one-liners. Probably a bad call.
